100 days of school!

Today we celebrated 100 days of school - and what a fun celebration it was!  All day long students participated in activities that made them think about the number 100.
What will you be doing when you are 100 years old? on PhotoPeach

Turning the digits 100 into interesting creations on PhotoPeach

What does 100 cm look like? on PhotoPeach

In science we started an experiment to see which is heavier...100 kernels of popcorn that is not popped or 100 kernels of popped popcorn...as we ran out of time in our day, we will finish up this experiment on another day.

Students were given challenges to do with the collection of objects they brought to school.  Click on this link to hear about their challenges.
Finally....students worked cooperatively to complete 100 piece puzzles and create designs with 100 2D shapes!

Hi everyone
We just got in contact with a school in Yokohama, Japan, who also are working with the number 100. http://blogs.yis.ac.jp/cowdyt/2012/02/24/sharing-numerical-thinking-with-parents/
