Learning about birds

This week we started reading about birds as part of our science unit.  Here are a few of the facts that we learned:

1.  Birds build nests in trees.

2.  Birds make nests to keep their eggs warm and safe.

3.  Birds make their nest out of mud and straw.

4.  There are many different kinds of birds.  We read about Bluebirds, Swallows, Canadian Geese, Cardinals, Robins, Eagles, Owls and many more.

5.  The Male Canada Goose makes a honking noise to protect the mother and her eggs.

We also enjoyed learning how to paint a few kinds of birds.

What kinds of birds do you see where you live?

Do you notice any interesting things that they do?

Hello from Pagosa!
Our computers have been down, but we are working on answering your questions about our field trip. We are also studying about birds right now, so we will post something on our blog about it too!
We'll be writing more to you very soon!
